A home service agreement typically covers mechanical failures or breakdowns due to normal wear and tear of your home appliances or major systems (heat/air conditioning, plumbing, electric, kitchen appliances, etc.) depending upon the plan and options that you choose. The plan guarantees the homeowner that if something that is covered by the home warranty plan stops working or breaks down then it will be repaired or replaced by the service company, subject to the terms, conditions and coverage limits of the contract.
When you purchase a home plan from American Residential Warranty, you are entitled to certain protections as part of the plan. If one of your covered appliances or systems breaks down, you can either submit a request online or call us. Our representatives are ready to assist you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A representative will validate your coverage and dispatch your claim to a service provider, who will contact you directly to schedule an appointment that works best with your schedule. For all covered repairs, a small service fee of $55 will be due per breakdown, unless otherwise noted in the terms & conditions.
Homeowners rely on electricity on a daily basis. The interior electrical system is a necessity that requires maintenance, however interior electrical problems are a common occurrence. Your home is full of electrical systems that include complex components, such as wiring, computer networks and appliances. Some of these systems operate in homes for years before problems occur while others break down within days or months after installation. When there is an electrical problem, it needs to be addressed by a professional quickly to prevent a dangerous situation that can lead to property damage or personal injury.
Most dealers will cover both parts and labor ONLY for the first year following installation of an interior electrical system. When you have a home plan that includes Interior Electrical System protection, you will have coverage for as long as you continue paying for your plan. When covered with a home plan from American Residential Warranty, that includes your Interior Electrical System, you will have peace of mind knowing that you have protected your essential electrical connections.
Interior electrical coverage includes/excludes the following:
COVERED: All Interior AC wiring including receptacles, switches, fuses, single and two pole breakers.
* We also have optional refrigerant/coil coverage that can be added to standard plans that have the basic heating/cooling coverage.
NOT COVERED: Fixtures, attic or whole house exhaust fans, door bells, intercom systems, alarm systems, central vacuum systems, audio/video/computer wiring or cable, direct current (DC) wiring and systems, exterior wiring and components, telephone wiring, inadequate wiring capacity, power failure/shortage or surge, low voltage systems (including wiring and relays), load control devices, electrical generation systems, solar electrical systems, timers, touch pad assemblies, remote controls and failure caused by circuit overload.
There are no individual plans that ONLY cover one system (i.e. heating, cooling or electrical). American Residential Warranty has 3 plans that would include all 3 of those systems:
There are no long-term contracts involved. As a customer of American Residential Warranty, you will not be locked into a 1 or 2-year plan. You can set up your coverage to run on a month-to-month basis, as well as quarterly or annually. Your initial payment includes a thirty (30) day wait period before you are eligible for coverage under this Agreement.
Under our American Residential Warranty plans, homeowners experience the convenience of having customizable coverage for their new and existing home appliances, systems that include interior electrical systems, and electronics.
